Eschatology

by Raymond P. Hammond

I want to dance in the snow

in the dark of night

like I did before there was weather radar

to show the precise moment a snowfall will end

or clocks the precise moment the first-light will break

I want to live in the moment of eternity

where this night and this snowstorm

have always been and always will be

to exist solely in possibility

I want to dance in the snow

in the dark of night

without any prediction

of a coming clearing of clouds

without any promise of a dawn
